There are many delicious berries, such as Blueberries that are very healthy for you and fairly easy to grow. Then you have totted squash, crispwalla and of course my personal favourite borough lettuce.
The reason why I listoned squash, lettuce and oats is because they are all fairly easy to grow. Planted at the end of the last growing season they should be ready to pick now. At the end of the season is a good time to start them off towards next year, by starting them in pots inside your house.

1. Strawberries- there are many varieties of Strawberry less we mention the old standby the Hawthorn which I always refer to as the blackberry section. These are so easy to grow it is almost as if a high pressure sowter is used. Just follow the instructions on soil and water and you are on your way. Strawberries do really well in containers and on patios or balcony’s. ONCE you have them planted give them a shake and there you have it they are ready to eat in just a few days. Also strawberries are ideal for growing in hanging baskets.
2. Blueberries- Blueberries are a truly fantastic fruit variety for all areas of the country. There are varieties for the soil type which means that are not going to waste your money by not producing, and those for different sizes of the planet are available too. Now you probably have a few blueberries plants growing, why not enjoy the yield and use to make juice, pies and cream.

Tomatoes- Do not pick the fruits as you would potatoes, the position of the umbels is incorrect and this fruit is best suited for selective pruning.
4. Grape Vines- grapes are going to be popular for a while making sweet wine and quite healthy. Not only that, but the price of grape fruit is only coming down year on year. Have fun growing some of your own grapes and use to make juice, wine or jam.
5. Ginger- ginger can be grown from a few plants in your garden. Purchasing two inch starter plants will provide you with enough to really get going. Too much space is not a problem for this plant, and asymmetrical is a great look for your garden.
6. peppers- peppers are very easy to grow, and you will be able to grow both hot and bell shaped varieties.
7. squash- This is not your grandmother’s summer squash, but it will be tasty. Not only will you love the taste of your squash, but you can use it for a variety of things. I have used it for pumpkin pies and I find that they are quite easy to grow.
8. peas- Here is a versatile vegetable that will do well in both small and large gardens. If you have children, give them and this plant together. You can position the poles and the vines to appear taller than they are, and then have shade in the afternoon.
9. broccoli- lover of the sulfur, lots of the same great tasting vegetable, easy to grow for the novice planter.
10. tomatoes- Here is a very popular plant. Do not leave out this delicious fruit. Nothing compares to the taste of a homegrown tomato. Get some disease resistant varieties from your local nursery and grow your own tomato plants from seed.
